All'Antico Vinaio: I straight up don't like Italy very much (sorry!) but this place was delicious, and worth the hype. I also found people in Florence to be nicer than other places I went to in the country.

riccardo luci marbled paper: beautiful family-owned store filled with amazing marbled paper goods. if you reach out to them in advance, you can schedule a hands-on demonstration and create your own marbled paper. i had mine made into a journal, i think it was my favorite souvenir!

Santa Maria Novella Historic Store: If you love fragrance, history, and/or beautiful places in general the original Santa Maria Novella store is a must see. It's the site of the original apothecary, which as the name indicates, is connected to Santa Maria Novella. You don't need to go to shop, it's a beautiful free museum. Also great for buying souvenirs or gifts.

I' Girone De' Ghiotti: Best sandwich of my life. I usually avoid very touristy and blown out places but this is a very, very good sandwich. And I say that as someone who never waits in a line.

Elinor Marriane: Petite stationery shop in Florence named after Sense and Sensibility’s Dashwood sisters. Owner Silvia Columbano bedecks every card, notebook and sticker with her inviting, whimsical illustrations. Her goods feel like collectibles, but the prices are VERY reasonable. I’d rather have one of her ice cream notebooks than a whole month of actual 🍨
