California State Railroad Museum: I haven’t been myself, but my friend has two kids (toddler and baby fwiw), and said this museum was so fun that she’d even recommend it to adults sans kids.

Betty Wine, Sacramento: We loved this spot when we lived in Sac. It opens nice and early which we enjoyed for the 4pm desire to have a glass of wine and bring our toddler along.

Fanny Ann’s Saloon: Restaurant in Old Town that was actually a saloon. My mom celebrated her 21st bday here in 1975 and when we went this last year she said it hadn’t changed (apart from becoming more family friendly). Great for kids - burgers and fries kind of spot with 3 floors and games to explore. The train museum is also awesome. And I’m a 30 year old woman with no interest in trains so that’s saying something. You can go there first and then walk over to Fanny Ann’s.
