Missouri Botanical Gardens (St.Louis)

One of the best botanical gardens in the world next to one of the best parks in the world (Tower Grove Park)! Here are some things I like to do: • pick up donuts on a Saturday morning and have a beautiful garden walk • go into the Climatron in the middle of the winter to feel the hot humid air on my skin • do a potluck with my friends at the summer Wednesday music series and sit anywhere in the gardens Enjoy!!!

Angel’s Landing (Zion National Park in Utah)

In hindsight, the view and the experience makes up for the scariest hike I’ve ever done. I almost chickened out before the final part but saw an elderly Asian couple with matching hats coming back with big smiles on their faces and I had to do it.

Sorry my favorite bird would kick your favorite bird’s ass in a fight. They steal fish from fishermen, have the most mournful calls, and carry their baby on their backs. Just graphically so crisp and beautiful. Perfect birds.

Enchanted Rocks State Natural Area (Texas)

A great big rock to scamper up and there is such a cool ecosystem up top! The lower portion of the park is beautiful, too, with a creek that runs next to the path.

Rio Grande Gorge (New Mexico)

The photos from above or from bridges are not really conveying the staggering nature of the Rio Grande Gorge. When I was driving up to Taos and saw the earth cracked open, it felt like it was an entrance to some other world.

Jackson Park cherry blossoms (Chicago)

Cherry blossoms in Jackson Park is so special, especially when unpredictable Chicago spring brings a barrage of inclement weather as they start to bloom. Ephemerality is the point!
