I did this a couple of years ago and found it to be a really beautiful and powerful way to remember, honor, and connect with my family and friends on the other side. It also sparked conversations with my kids about our family history. I now set one up every year toward the end of October.

I can't believe it took us so long to come up with this, but I'm so glad that someone finally did! Who doesn't get excited to stumble upon a little, magical box full of books that are there for the taking? Leave a book, take a book, spread the joy of reading and learning!

P’tit train du Nord bike trail

Beautiful, 200-km bike trail through the Laurentian Mountains, north of Montreal. You can bike the whole route in 4 days, staying at inns and B&Bs in the small towns along the way. It was our first multi-day cycling trip as a family, and everyone loved it! And you can spend time exploring Montreal at the end.

The Goldbergs - TV show

Our family's current favorite TV show! It's hard to find something we all enjoy (parents + kids ages 8 and 12), but this magically appeals to everyone and is very funny! It's a sitcom about a family in the 1980s, based on the creator's real family (home video clips included). And Wendi McLendon-Covey creates comedy gold as the overbearing mom. I'm already trying to source a matching wig for my next Halloween costume...
