Switzy by Emma Cline
•••
Loved this book. I’m a sucker for Emma Cline, the guest being one of my favorites. This book is really beautiful, about a man reflecting on his life when he’s close to the end. I thought it was lovely.

On another planet they can save me by lieke marsman
•••
This book is so beautiful. You can feel her loneliness in her experience but also relate to the philosophical research and alien conspiracies. A prompt to questioning what you believe and the certainty that you have with that belief. There is so much that we don’t know.

A new earth by Eckhart Tolle
•••
I feel like this should be required reading. This is just a mind bowing book on ego and presence. I plan to just start reading it from the top now that I’ve finished. I’ve been slowly reading it over this year and it’s been kind of mind altering

Kick the latch by Kathryn Scanlan
•••
This little novel is a blunt but detailed look into the life of a female horse trainer. Based on a true story. I really enjoyed her fire and grit. You can also really feel her love and care for the horses.

The disappearing act by Maria stepanova

I really liked this little book. A woman basically going through an identity crisis. It left me thinking, what would it be like to just drop everything and become someone/something else?

Drivers by Mattia Filice
•••
I haven’t really read a book like this one. It is a novel (although the writer is a driver so it’s based on personal experience)about a train driver and their experience through training and driving trains. A difficult job where the workers rights are frequently left behind. At times this book felt despondent and eerie but other times felt filled with hope and a deep feeling of community and being there for one another.
