The Iliad (Emily Wilson Translation)

“Long time Greek mythology nerd but my first time reading the Iliad (I had to read the Aeneid in Latin in high school and it really burned me out on classics…). Loved Emily Wilson’s translation and the notes and intro especially are great. I am mostly pro-Kindle for bigger books but recommend getting a physical copy of this one to be able to flip back and forth between the notes, glossary, etc.! Reading an epic poem was challenging for me (beautiful prose but doesn’t always keep my attention the way a novel does, especially on book 17 of an endless battle) but also rewarding and I felt like I learned so much.”
