“take the tram to roosevelt island and photosynthesize in the four acres of granite at the southern tip. "The Room" at the end configures 36-ton granite blocks set an inch apart, allowing wind to pass through and amplify the sound of water movement of the east river. forced perspective trickery here. in one direction, the lawn looks (as pictured) impossibly long; looking back, everything is flattened. poignant balance of image/artifice with the natural elements. does not get much better than that i think.”
