“Librarythings is my favorite site truly in so many ways - it's everything I want from a book site. It's so incredibly flexible - what it lacks in modern design, it makes up for tenfold in the flexibility it provides you with. There are truly endless ways to set up what items display for you and in what order, and it's wild to me how often that sort of thing is hardcoded. Context - I own a lot of books - like hundreds - like I am my own library - so this sort of freedom is incredibly important to me. I also change my mind - a lot! I love tools that allow me to make changes based on what I need or want in that moment / how I feel like engaging with it THAT day.
I can't say enough good things about this site, and truly make the point to share it folks whenever I can because I think it's so innovative in a genuine user-focused way. I am someone who very much loves "the aesthetics" of things, and seeing beautiful (to me) things sends actual sunlight to my heart and YET the gains from how this whole site functions makes it special without any of the usual bells or whistles.
