MorrisFirst to rec“welcome back to the sandwich index. today i'm at mendocino farms, a california staple known for its salads and sandwiches. i came in to see what the farmer could do for me. peruvian steak sandwich balance: balance of value? not so much. the sandwich was puny, and it was almost $15 when it was all said and done. meat to cheese ratio: there was a fair amount of protein, but so little Oaxaca cheese that i was not even sure it was there. lettuce: there was basically no lettuce on the sandwich. construction: cute. it came on a buttered brioche potato roll situation. bite: it was juicy, like the tomatoes and herb aioli came together to create a smooth flurry of flavor. mess: a little messy, not gonna lie. vibe: uncertain. probably would not return for that. overall score: 2.5/5 maybe i should’ve gotten a salad.”
