Wikipedia

“I think we take the humble Wikipedia a little for granted. She doesn't get the love she deserves, and so this is my feeble attempt to rectify that. She's my favourite internet wormhole; I could spend days spiralling down into her deep dark crevices... ok, this is beginning to sound creepy... My point is that my love for Wikipedia runs so deep that it feels like a betrayal not to memorialise it on my other favourite internet wormhole (yeah, that's you @Rec League!). Did I make a Wikipedia page-themed invitation for my birthday this year? Of course I did. Perhaps I will share it here for the lols if my fellow Wiki fans n freaks wish for a lil treat.”

“We don’t deserve Wikipedia. It’s the hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy in real life, but also totally free.”

“It drives my girlfriend insane because anytime we try to watch anything on TV I have a carnal urge to understand every actors Early Life. Where else are you going to find it out?”

“Don’t forget to make your annual donation to the international association of supporting younger siblings everywhere aka Wikipedia”

“I don’t want to imagine an internet without Wikipedia”

“I agree! I donate monthly.”

“I take it for granted so often.. so much to learn. so much to see.”

“Nothing more satisfying than wondering when your city was founded and spending a few minutes learning something new.”

“You can "just do it"! Wikipedia just celebrated it's 25th anniversary, but it's never too late to get started editing and contributing. Remember, the slogan is "The free encyclopedia that anyone can edit". It can seem intimidating. If you bite off a big project right away you might get reverted, or scolded by one of the "big wig editors" who like to act as gatekeepers. But really they're more like strict librarian chihuahuas, they just want to keep their information neat. Think if it this way, if you post something on Twitter, it lasts for a day. Post someting on Wikipedia and it could be there for years, plus you're helping all of humanity...”
