Michael BologninoFirst to rec“Tasty and fun to eat - you (easily) pop off the soft shell with your teeth and then enjoy the perfect texture of the tasty bean. You can get fancy versions in cute packaging with flavors, but I just drain them and then add a delicious vinegar and some salt and pepper and put them out with olives or just as a snack. Update, they are apparently really good for you, as beans go: -Lower in calories but higher in nutrients, including thiamine, riboflavin, vitamin C, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron and zinc -One of the richest sources of plant protein and fibre (at least twice as much as other legumes, contributing to their hunger-busting effect) -Much lower in carbs, with a lower glycaemic index -A significant source of polyphenols and zeaxanthin, which include beneficial antioxidants and cholesterol-lowering phytosterols -A good source of all nine essential amino acids, including arginine, which lowers blood pressure”
