The RealReal

“TRR is one of my favorite places to buy formal and business clothes because you can high-quality garments made in good fabrics for the same price as fast fashion. The key is to tailor your search to particular fabrics, like silk, and get specific with the garment you’re looking for. TRR app will even let you save your search h so that you can easily see new items added to that category. Stay away from super big fashion brands because they’re more likely to retain their value in the resell market. You can also favorite and watch items to see if their price goes down.”

“Big selection, lots of levels of bag/cost/age - Celine, Loewe, Miu Miu, APC, ACNE, Bottega all for the same as IMHO far less high quality current contemporary and secondary brands that will have far lower resale value in the long run. Sometimes brand new sometimes slightly used. I find that they last and last - and when you're done they can go back into the mix. A few wedding idea here: Happy hunting!”

“Is resplendent with black boots. Favorites of my closet are these black Rachel Comey and these western-style Celine (these are brown but I love them!) Pay attention to how different brands do sizing and shimmy your searches accordingly. I bought the RC booties for $70 4 years ago and they continue to delight.”
