“Just off of one of the main shopping streets in Kita-Senju is Senju Motohikawa Shrine, a 700-year-old Hikawa shrine five minutes, where the main deity is Susano-o-no-Mikoto or the storm god and slayer of Yamata-no-Orochi, also venerated for warding off misfortune. It's the perfect place to escape the busy shopping streets and sit with the trees in the shade for a sec. They also have this cute omamori or protection charm for warding off evil spirits.”
