“Say what you want about Lost (or don't, I'm sensitive and love it dearly), but if you are human, this opener to season 2, soundtracked by the late great Cass Elliot, blew your mind into the stratosphere.
What you can only assume to be a flashback to a bachelor pad of sorts, is proven to be the very location we had all desperately been waiting to see up until that point - the interior of the hatch. Not sure any season opener of any show has topped this since.
They pulled a very similar stunt with the season 3 opener, using Petula Clark's "Downtown", to good effect honestly — but not quite as good.”
