The Tainted Cup

“What can I say, I love a whodunnit”

“This whole fantasy-mystery series by Robert Jackson Bennett is so delightful. I specifically love listening to the audiobook. My book club is devouring every book as they come out (just finished book 3).”

“My favorite sci-fi series being written right now. It’s basically like if Sherlock + Holmes solved murders in a high fantasy world that’s constantly attacked by monstrous leviathans. Incredible world-building, well plotted mysteries, and some body horror :) It rules!”

“Newly enamored with this author. He got me with the line about the French drain in his bio. this book is a well executed mash up of fantasy and detective novel styles. The fantasy world is amazing and details of it are revealed in tandem with the details of the crime. The investigator and her assistant are likable and occasionally create laughs. It’s great. Reading City of Stairs now.”

“A Sherlock-ian type murder mystery/buddy cop drama except what if there were maniacal sea monsters on the threshold of destroying the world and what if Watson was bi? 4.4/5”

“Finished 7/15 Imagine if Attack on Titan’s fascination with institutions, history, and power were combined into an ecological murder mystery”
