“Vignettes of 20-somethings in a Midwest winter, Filthy Animals shows the impulses that make us human, be that violent, nurturing, scared, or bitter. Some of the characters get second chapters while others are standalone, forcing you to accept the character for what is presented to you, with or without closure. It’s an exercise in being present that I really appreciated.”
