“Rereading my all time favorite book and it’s even better than I remember. Beautiful writing, lovable characters, twisty plot. It delves into linguistics, culture, and theology in a way that I only partially understood in my first reading as a Christian and which means even more to me now as an agnostic. Somehow even though it’s a tragedy it feels like a hug.”

“A great book! A solid mix of theology, philosophy, and science fiction. A Jesuit priest leads a crew to another planet to make first contact with an alien race. Already a bit different, right? Things take some unfortunate turns, allowing an exploration of what evil is, what it means to be human, and more. One of the best books I’ve read.”
