“Genius and unhinged journey into obsession as pointed critique of social systems, the art world, and power structures. One of the most successful uses of fragmentation in a contemporary novel that I’ve read.”

“I initially gravitated towards this thinking it would be a fun and quick read and TBH it’s not the easiest to get through even as an audiobook. Yes, this is a modern day romance story but it’s a bit of a bummer. However, the BEST parts were Sheena’s reflections on contemporary microinfluencer culture and colonialism. Absolutely LOVED how she wove those in and have been reflecting a lot since reading.”

“this book is so uniquely written and captures a very specific time in history that deserves equally careful and messy documentation (instagram, womanhood, class divisions)”
