“Enthralling fantasy world with a tumultuous female friendship through the decades. So much passion and darkness between the pages.”

““Set in the fictional Golden Mile neighbourhood of Montreal in the 1800s, the novel follows two best friends, Marie Antoine and Sadie Arnett, who develop a deep and obsessive friendship early in childhood.” Easily one of my top 5 favorite books now. It’s so delicious. I’ve never read a friendship between girls written this way, and I’m not sure how because it’s so very much how I experienced mine growing up. Almost-Sapphic, masculine, competitive, but intrinsically girly and nearly fatal.”
