Strangers: A Memoir of Marriage

“Jan. 2026”

“R.S.V.P. to the April 28th book club with Belle Burden and Thessaly La Force at Nine Orchard to ask BB every burning question abt her divorce memoir Strangers. Hosted at Nine Orchard, naturally!”

“Currently reading and can’t put it down”

“I didn’t imagine I would be so moved by - or even finish - a memoir of a rich white woman being left by her rich white husband. And yet.”

“March 2026 Read”

“So far sooo good”

“I haven’t pinpointed why I’m so invested in Burden’s story, but the book and this article have my full attention. is it the extreme wealth (and seeming ignorance to it)? Glimpse into these social circles? Their marriage dynamic and the drama of its end? The “what if it happened to me” element? And now with this journalism, am I tugged back in because I’m not so sympathetic anymore? Or curious about Burden’s motivation to author this in the first place? A lot to still unpack.”

“Can't wait to see Gwynnie play her and I will be ordering Goop Kitchen for the occasion”

“The sandwich. Read the book and get back to me on that.”

“I could not put this down. A memoir. A horror story. A woman going through hell and finding her power on the other side. It's a triumph.”

“I could not put this book down, and now feel like Belle is a friend. I love learning about people, and this book was so intimate. Such a gentle, yet raw, reflection on her marriage. Loved, loved, loved!”

“Compelling because of how raw and unflinchingly honest it is, and all the questions Burden doesn't pretend she knows the answers to.”

“Jaw on the floor, currently listening.”

“A crazy memoir! Part wealth porn part ‘who the fuck did I marry’? Just ripped right through this one. FUCK ‘JAMES’ (who is a very Google-able man working in NYC)”

“Wow!! Thank you Drew Barrymore for telling me to read this. It's not about hating men, it's about awareness”

“audacity.”

“Gobbled it up. Devastating and heartfelt.”

“Page-turner city”

“you’ll devour this. highly recommend the audio.”

“The marriage and divorce memoir everyone's talking about.”

“The hype is real.”

“I mean everyone is saying it but it really is that good”

“Come for the hot goss, stay for the perspective and Ospreys”

“Me and everyone else!”
