Phoebe WardFirst to rec“Iowa, Writer's Workshop grad and author of Prep Curtis Sittenfeld's latest masterpiece is a series of short stories that double as satirical character studies She's the best kind of writer - the kind whose voice stays in your head long after you put down the book. Her voice is especially welcome, IMO, because it gives fresh attention to what I've always felt. She writes like a cartoonist - general and specific at the same time. Also I appreciated the Carleton representation (our only other pop culture moment I'm aware of is the dinner table scene in Whiplash iykyk).”
