On the Calculation of Volume

“Groundhogs day but make it intellectual.”

“Four books (of a planned seven) have been translated so far and each release is eagerly anticipated — basically, time stops (or does it?) and we live in a world of endless November 18ths. Not sci-fi, moreso an examination of the beautiful patterns that make up our day-to-day.”

“Incredible premise. A meditation on time, loss and lonliness”

“I thought it’d be boring but I read through it nonstop. Reading 2-4 on list.”

“A sci-fi novel without the sci-fi trappings. A meditation on time and life and purpose in the void of banality. Enthralling. I can’t wait to read the rest.”

“Several decades in the making, a seven-volume novel about a woman trapped in a 24-hour time loop. Its thematic inquiries include love and depression, but there’s way, way more. One of its recurring questions for me is - what is containment?”

“Groundhog Day but make it European and female.”

“a mystery, with such beautiful scene description”

“By Solvej Balle. A love story between a lover, the seasons, the Roman Empire, houses, friends—the list continues to grow as Balle adds to the series. At 7 anticipated volumes, there are currently 4 English translated volumes out, with the 5th volume set to release in Nov.”

“Groundhog Day if it weren’t funny and was about love and loss and feeling lonely.”

“Amazing perspective on the beauty of everyday mundane things”
