Even though it’s not as popular here in the US, it is very popular overseas (my grandma made her morning coffee using one of these every day in post-independence India). I typically go for a 1-10 ratio of coffee to water (if I fill the basket with grounds, I’d fill the bottom chamber to the valve with hot water), with a fairly fine grind (but not as fine as espresso). The key with a moka pot is to heat the water gently and slowly and to cut the heat as soon as the coffee begins brewing as to not burn the coffee. A moka pot is a must-have for coffee lovers and a great replacement for a pricey espresso machine.”

When I do iced, I like to add some homemade lavender or vanilla syrup, or a little honey with vanilla extract and a splash of milk…making my own version of the $7 coffee to create cafe vibes at my home (sometimes I make a batch of scones or some pastry as well to really commit but depends on my morning—either way i recommend curating a whole coffee shop thing)”
