Biography of X

“Obsessed with this book and really enjoyed listening to interviews with the author after I finished reading it - one of my recent faves”

“You can tell Catherine Lacey writes in a sort of delirium - this widow’s quest to make sense of the many identities of her late wife strains credulity and yet is clearly rooted in the author’s own compilation of life’s many heartbreaks. This is what fiction does best: it builds an entirely new world all in service of a feeling.”

“A grieving writer attempts to write the biography of her recently deceased enigmatic wife X.”

“Love mediated through text”

“Here, here! I’m definitely not biased* but Biography of X makes you question your own sanity and the entire premise of truth. (*Totally biased, I’m related to Catherine.)”

“You know a book is good when you’re like, I want to know everything they researched to write this”
