Elodie“I have such complicated feelings about Franzen's writing in general. On one hand, I can't put down his books and they are so intense. Some weird male author stuff definitely shines through though. I love parts of this book and I am annoyed by parts. It is still incredible though and really worth a read I think”

Spines, Flicks, and Wax“After years of meaning to start The Corrections, I finally started it this weekend and couldn't stop listening! The audiobook is narrated by actor Dylan Baker, who does a fantastic job! While caring for her ailing husband Alfred, matriarch Enid Lambert just wants her three grown kids to come back home for Christmas, to have a nice, family reunion while they still have the chance. Through Franzen's superb storytelling, we learn about each Lambert's life, their dreams (both failed and realized), and their hangup. Super late to this party but, man, sure glad I made it. Currently on Libby via audiobook or ebook for library users 😊”
