“A beautiful novel about aging, partnership, love, and death. WARNING: VERY SLOW BURN. I actively disliked this book for about 80% of the time I was reading it, but then a flip switched and I loved it, and in fact retroactively loved the whole thing. A neat trick if you can pull it off, which Ishiguro definitely can (see also Remains of the Day, Never Let Me Go)”
