““BLKNWS: Terms & Conditions expands upon Kahlil Joseph’s video art installation of the same name. The sci-fi, experimental “documentary” brings together a cast from fictionalized figures of W. E. B Du Bois and Marcus Garvey to artists, musicians, Joseph’s family, and even Twitter chats.” This work in some ways fits snuggly into a legacy of Black speculative fiction and Afro-futurism across literature and film and in other ways creates a genre of its own that sits at the intersection fine art, blockbuster movies, and the recurring dream that you’ve had since you were 13.”
