dhblikes“Because the cactus garden never ceases to feel otherworldly--like a garden on Mars, or, underwater. The Japanese and Chinese gardens calm the nerves, the air-con & art cool the head, gift shop satisfies any merch cravings, kids garden & conservatory is where I lived w/ my toddlers and growing kids, as well as the endless lawns...a safe place to get lost all day. Stay until the guards kick you out. It's fun to feel like a naughty kid there.”

I enjoy going alone with a journal just as much as frolicking around with friends, like on my 30th birthday last summer. Sweet date spot (but only if you really, really like them; some things are sacred). Free admission every first Sunday of the month — make sure to book in advance on the previous Thursday morning!”

Kristen Pumphrey“the rose garden in bloom is magical; the herbs inspiring; the japanese garden immersive, the cactus garden awe inspiring. great museum too.”
Cecilia B.“One of my happy places. The membership is worth it for their desert garden alone.”
Soleil“Marriage as a legally binding contract doesn’t really appeal to me, but this marriage certificate from 1815 just might change my mind. Eternally bound by watercolored flowers, sure why not? There are a few certificates on display in the American Folk Art exhibit at the Huntington Library and Gardens. The Huntington offers free entry on one Thursday a month.(also sometimes if you’re nice at the ticket counter, they’ll give you a Free entry guest pass. But you didn’t hear that from me.)”
