Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens

Because the cactus garden never ceases to feel otherworldly--like a garden on Mars, or, underwater. The Japanese and Chinese gardens calm the nerves, the air-con & art cool the head, gift shop satisfies any merch cravings, kids garden & conservatory is where I lived w/ my toddlers and growing kids, as well as the endless lawns...a safe place to get lost all day. Stay until the guards kick you out. It's fun to feel like a naughty kid there.
