“DAY 23 As with most Frank Henenlotter films, there's a lot more to Frankenhooker than meets the eye. Aside from being wildly entertaining, it has a lot to say about female agency and Henenlotter does this unironically. He creates a character that doesn't treat Elizabeth with dignity and the character ultimately receives his just desserts for doing so. If you take the dive and watch this 1990 cult classic, I would LOVE to know how you feel about it...if you can get past the exploding prostitutes, which funnily enough isn't the battiest thing about the film. (The link I've attached is an article from Morbidly Beautiful on the movie's feminist, but, I would read it only after having seen the movie as it contains spoilers.)”
