How to Chill Bulbs Before Planting

“I noticed a small note on a website when I was purchasing tulip bulbs “not pre chilled”. I paused and realized I was missing something. A quick search uncovered I should have been chilling some of my bulbs before planting them!!! This explained why I’ve had just a weird experience with bulbs. At the garden store I talked to the help desk and they told me I should also soak them in water and fertilizer for 24 hours before planting.”
