Maple Tofu Bacon Recipe

“i was vegan for 12 years (now just veggie) and finding good vegan bacon is a fool’s errand. i’ve tried them all. mybacon is the only good one and it’s TOO EXPENSIVE. this is my official fix and it’s so fcking gooooooodddd. i make a batch once a week and freeze them, then reheat with 30 sec in the microwave + 2 min in air fryer at 400. TO MAKE press then slice firm tofu (or extra firm i’m not picky) width probably 1/4 inch?? idk dealers choice add your seasonings: paprika, garlic powder, generous salt, white pepper, pinch of nutritional yeast. add corn starch (for a full block of tofu i do maybe 1/4 c). mix together toss in oil (we are an olive oil house) air fry on 375 for 15 min, flip, add another 7-9. you want them to be a hair away from max crispy take out and let cool a few min. while cooling, mix: equal parts maple syrup and soy sauce, plus 1 tsp liquid smoke (TRUST ME) toss tofu in liquid mix!!!!! return to air fryer at 400 for 5 min (we like when they have just a few black bits on the edges)”
