“I’ve been watching K-dramas for over a decade, and Scandal on Netflix hooked me almost immediately. If you know Dangerous Liaisons, you’ll recognize the story—it’s a Korean adaptation, and there’s actually already a Korean film version as well. What really stands out to me here is the acting and the dialogue. Even in English translation, the dialogue retains its intensity. Almost every scene is filled with tension. You’re constantly wondering: What are they going to do next? What are they going to say next? And if you have the stereotype that K-dramas are all about waiting until episode 5 for a hand-hold and episode 14 for a kiss, this is very much the opposite. It explores raw human emotions—sex, jealousy, love, hatred, desire, happiness, and everything in between. Dangerous Liaisons is definitely an adult story, and this adaptation doesn’t shy away from that. Highly recommend it if you haven’t watched it yet.”
