“If you're pressed for time, but want to maximize your time with all the different types of gyoza that Utsunomiya has to offer, then I would highly suggest coming to Utsunomiya Gyōza-kai Kirasse 来らっせ 本店, which is located on the basement floor of a Don Quijote and is basically a giant foodcourt with stalls of all the famous gyoza restaurants. It's like a one-stop-shop of all things Utsunomiya gyoza.
There can be a bit of a wait (even on a random weekday), but there's a nearby arcade and shops with lots of gyoza-themed goods to browse until your number is called.
Once inside at your table, you can go up to the different stalls where you place an order and pay at each and then they'll give you a number to take back to your table and they'll bring your gyoza to you! We mainly went for a lot of the classics, but they also sometimes have pretty strange looking options, and those are fun to try too... because like where else would you eat this..
