“I am biased as a big Simon Stone fan, but this ate!!! It’s an adaptation of The Cherry Orchard set in modern day Seoul performed in Korean. Second act in particular is really strong, though admittedly, due to my undiagnosed fatigue (narcolepsy??), I was fighting for my life trying to read the subtitles for the first act which were kind of like floating boxes in the darkness above the set. My one complaint is that those screens aren’t placed in the best positions for reading when you are kinda far back but whatever! Set is immaculate and I personally felt like I’d never seen that many seats in the drill hall. It felt really expansive—and they were all full! I would say this makes up for my devastation of missing The Oresteia at The Bridge by one week…60%. P good!”
