“When the famous Dear Sugar column first dropped in 2011 I was 19 and had never had a big love or a big grief. Over the ensuing 15y and through several relationships this quote would continue to pop up uninvited in my mind and cause me to say "Am I gonna let a pop self-help author tell me what's 'real'"? and "What is FREELY, anyway"? and "Is anything really ABSOLUTE in this life"? Inconvenient though it is, can now confirm with 100% certainty that absolute rule means absolute rule. Ignore at your peril.”
