Anaïs WadeFirst to rec“When French training and Mexican roots come together to make pastries I can’t eat enough of. Get yourself the oreja (their take on the palmier), the pan de maíz and the concha of course!”

New York times recently featured them in their list of best bakeries in the country, so go early in the morning. I'm putting their menu up here so you can strategize your approach. Grab a mixed handful to go and a coffee (also excellent) and amble the nearby historic district (lots of good houses, good dogs, and good gardens to enjoy alongside your good pastries). Do you know the Hot Chocolate song Every 1's A Winner? If not, consider this an interpolated rec and go listen to that first and then go to Gusto. Every pastry is truly top notch and you can't go wrong. Everyone's a winner baby, that's no lie/you never fail (never fail) to satisfy...”
