This is the wine bar I wish could exist in the states: bang-up selection with cerebral wines for the nerds and glou glou for a good time, standing room only, unpretentious barbacks, tiny little salty snacks. The best!!

I’ve been going to NOLA my whole life (was born in MS) and the meal I had at Mosquito in late 2023 was hands-down the best meal I’ve ever had in NOLA. They get the best seafood, cook it perfectly with flavors of the bayou, embody the best parts of Southern hospitality, give thoughtful credit to their fishermen and farmers, and communicate beautifully about what this food means to New Orleans. It’s a perfect place.

Brookes Headley played in punk bands before becoming the pastry chef at Del Posto then opened a vegan-ish burger joint with one of the best goshdarn burgers I’ve ever had. That’s a resume I trust.
