The King's Garden
•••
Lovely park to sit around and have a snack or to run around and look at the fish ponds or the cool hedges that you can imagine are a maze if you squint. One time I saw some horses, which is something some people who are not me are into.

Walking around late at night as a woman
•••
I have always loved to walk alone at night, but unfortunately due to Being A Woman it is not typically recommended (and one day I am sure I will face a consequence for my flippancy). But in Copenhagen it’s fine! I left my cousin’s apartment in Amagerbro every night between 11:30 and midnight while she and her friends were off being 20 years old and I would just walk for hours and hours to places I’d not even seen in the light of day before. The only time I felt kind of unsafe was when some people set off some fireworks close by and I got afraid I was going to catch on fire from a falling spark, which is just me being a little crazy.

Sex Beat Records
•••
Record store specializing mostly in rock, alternative, and metal. I think I also purchased a stray Black Eyed Peas CD here (sue me!), but I did have a nice exchange with the guys behind the counter about Idles.

Accord Nørrebro
•••
Sprawling record shop with CDs and vinyl around every corner. Organized by genre and then alphabetically, like everything should be but unfortunately often isn’t. Had all kinds of things I wouldn’t expect to see in CPH (shoutout to Chocolate City by Parliament!). Some pretty good deals if you buy 2-4 at once (for the CDs, at least).

Fabro
•••
Teeny tiny pasta place with a teenier tinier menu, because what they do, they do excellently. There can be a short wait if you’re more than two people (and you may end up sharing a table with some strangers) but patience is well rewarded.

Glyptotek

The beauty of the space alone makes this museum worth a visit, but the cherry on top (for me!) is that they have some of the Fayum mummy portraits. The Winter Garden is so lush and gorgeous, and they’ve got lots of Impressionists if that’s the type of thing you’re into. I was particularly fond of the wall of recreation noses and ears that had originally been created to repair ancient statues. Could take a whole day to explore—I left to get a hotdog outside the train station and then went back later.

Poulette
•••
Delish fried chicken sandwich, located right next to a fantastic coffee shop. Grab a cardamom bun from Andersen & Maillard (not the best ones to be had—that would probably be Juno—but you’re right there so why not), a sando from Poulette, and then explore Assistens Cemetery nearby! Léanowski is not far either and is definitely a bar worth going to.
