no longer indie (owned by Netflix) but still a New York institution. recent views here include Pride & Prejudice and Zodiac. you never know what they’ll be showing! as a plus, the snack bar has the saltiest, butteriest popcorn.

a little pricey but very worth it, have never had a bad meal here. for less $$, go across the street to Good Enough to Eat at lunchtime or Motorino at dinner time.

when it’s 90+ degrees, there is nothing better than stepping onto a freezing cold bus. even better knowing your alternative was entering the pit of hell (aka the subway, where it is usually +10 degrees from outdoor temp).
