Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner
•••
My favorite memoir to date. Michelle Zauner covers family + grief + food + identity. Also, she is a (literal) rockstar.

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
•••
This book is so good and surprising and is being made into a movie. I've yet to read something like it. Marx <3

Bluebird, Bluebird by Attica Locke
•••
This is so much more than your typical mystery. Race, (in)justice and the intersection of the two in small town East Texas. Attica Locke's characters & landscape are both extremely rich. This is the first in the "Highway 59" trilogy - I've also read book #2 so far, but I prefer this first one.

The Love of My Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood
•••
Girl chokes on a hamburger. Girl wakes up in limbo in the "afterlife" with a dreamy stranger. Turns out guy is there by mistake. Girl gets one chance to go back to Earth to find said hunk and live her best life. Funny, clever, smart and sweet banter ensues. This was a fun one, with a little (genuinely surprising) twist at the end.

Grace & Henry's Holiday Movie Marathon by Matthew Norman
•••
This was the most delightful & moving surprise. Grace & Henry both lose their respective spouses and find a grief buddy within each other. Don't let the cover fool you into thinking this is a silly romcom -- the banter is truly top notch and it's barely about the holidays. It's an easy read, so throw this into the mix when you need a quick but smart & heartwarming palate cleanser.
