Papier Tigre stationery
•••
This Parisian stationery shop has incredible design and best quality for a reasonable price - you can also shop online (but if in Paris, go check their lovely store) Spend time browsing through their website : notebooks, diaries and other accessories - it's hard to choose (my extra tip: great shop for presents also !)

Take a break in a Bookstore in Paris
•••
If you want a quiet time and amongst your favorite friends : books, take a stroll to a local independent bookstore (because there's not just Shakespeare & co in Paris...). We love these shops in France. Here are some of my favorite : Ici Librairie, at Grands Boulevards. They have it all on 2 levels of pure joy Smith & son on Rivoli street. An independent English bookstore Librairie Petite Egypte in Montorgueil. A small and sweet bookstore, the staff have always been so sweet. They have a great selection for kids If you want to bring a souvenir but you're not fluent : buy a french "BD = Bande Dessinée" (a graphic novel or a comic) or a classic french kid's book (I will recommend anything from the editor "L'École des Loisirs)

Parents with strollers in Paris : take the bus !
•••
Save you the hassle of trying to take the metro with a stroller in Paris : it's a nightmare (mostly no elevator, doors hard to open and don't get me started on finding the place inside the metro in busy hours), my Parisian family & friends all know the secret : take the public bus ! The network is really good and plus : enjoy the window views of the different areas, you may want to get down in a place you find charming and never thought of visiting. You may have to wait a bit longer then the metro, and still face some difficulties in rush hours, but Parisian accept more the presence of strollers/toddlers/family in the bus then the metro and will leave place more easily.

Play at La Pétanque
•••
Whatever the age, grab the boules and the cochonnet, a couple of friends, a flat area outside and go for it : In pétanque, the objective is to score points by positioning one's boules closer to the target ball than those of the opponent after all boules have been thrown. This is achieved by throwing or rolling boules closer to the small target ball. If you're in France look for any parks or in dedicated facilities called boulodromes.

Paris Indoor Walk : visit the Galeries et passages couverts parisiens
•••
It's raining or/and you want to feel back in 19th century, plan a walk that will go through as much "passage couvert" you can - a lot of them are in the 2nd arrondissement. My favorites : passage du Grand Cerf (for shopping), galerie Vivienne (to be amazed), passage des panoramas (to eat) and Passage Colbert (a secret one, great to relax)

The best-kept secret: book your intermission drinks at one of the bars before the show starts. It’s so chic to find your own reserved table—complete with glasses of champagne—waiting for you.
