Laforet Harajuku: a bunch of independent designers inside one shopping center in harajuku. my sister had to pee so we ended up stopping here looking for a bathroom then stayed for three hours. so many of my favorite pieces are from here. we have very different style but it was fruitful for both of us!

Antiquaille: Maybe my favorite antique store in Japan? In a (famously) great neighborhood for vintage shopping, as well: Shimokitazawa.

Antique and flea markets are also incredible places to find unique and beautiful souvenirs. I’ve gone to Oedo (every other Sunday), Hanazono Shrine (every Sunday), and Tomioka Hachiman (multiple times throughout the month), and they’re always great.

Hands: Definitely not a boutique, but is absolutely TOP of my Japan shopping list. The Tokyo Shinjuku location is six stories of kitchenwares, luggage, office and art supplies, high-end gifts, hardware, and so much more, much of it Japanese-made. I adore Hands.
