Maison Empereur
•••
The most incredible home and kitchen store I’ve ever been to in my life. I spent close to 3 hours in here. There are some pretty iconic French work jackets they sell that are worth copping along with their dinner wear. Shopping here will require you to buy an extra piece of luggage to bring home your treasured finds.

Elusive and seductive. I can’t stop looking at Matt’s work. I wish he would post more often.

Tsz Kam
•••
Tsz was one of the first local artists I discovered upon moving to Texas from LA and their work immediately clicked based on the intersectionality of Southern California identity (not so much here in TX). It often explores what it means to be both Asian and Texan. Honored to own her work - and her prints are very affordable.

Jonny Negron
•••
I generally find contemporary painters exceedingly boring (do we really need more paintings of water and flowers? Save that ish for West Elm) but Jonny has been one of my fave LA artists for a while and his work evokes the dark and macabre of Otto Dix. Give em a follow.

Sage Studios artists
•••
Sage is such a gem in Austin, but you can buy works online. They support adult artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) by providing professional studio space, materials, and platforms to exhibit and sell their work. So many amazing works like Montrel Beverley’s pipe cleaner sculptures.

Search Engine’s Berghain 2-parter

Having waited in this line in Berlin to be rejected myself, this is a deeply fascinating 2 part episode not only about the history of the elusive club and its notorious bouncers, but it goes deep into Berlin zoning history, the preservation of culture, techno history, and the confluence of it all. Super fascinating.

I think about this sculpture way too often (mainly whenever French people enter the chat and how BIG MAD it made conservatives there)
