Having waited in this line in Berlin to be rejected myself, this is a deeply fascinating 2 part episode not only about the history of the elusive club and its notorious bouncers, but it goes deep into Berlin zoning history, the preservation of culture, techno history, and the confluence of it all. Super fascinating.

I too have waited in the Berghain line only to be rejected. I remember finding a great interview in GQ about their most (in)famous bouncer, Sven. He’s a super interesting guy .Great article worth the read!

This made me so happy. I was totally delighted when he showed the photo of his friends to the lawyer (if I’m remembering it right) who immediately said they’d probably have a great time at this other club, and then it turned out that that was the club his friends went to after they got rejected from Berghein (& they had a great time)! I am also so excited about the Matt and Bowen movie that is in the works based on this premise! Such a great rec.
