red dog saloon - pioneertown: classic 1930s saloon in pioneertown, a great place to spend the afternoon shopping and walking around. it’s the perfect spot to pop in for a break from the desert sun. really yummy tacos, refreshing drinks, nice atmosphere, and a shady patio!!

copper room: this spot has an amazing menu food-wise & their cocktails (specifically their dusty and dirty martini i think they call it) is sooooo good! also they have live jazz sometimes so the vibes are great

tiny crochet museum: visit the world famous crochet museum (it’s tiny and adorable) & it’s located in a little shopping area that has great local artists & great window shopping too!

Stargazing Joshua Tree: Pricey but life changing. You won’t believe your eyeballs are seeing what they’re seeing. The dark sky, profesh astronomy telescopes, and skilled guides will literally blow your mind. I was moved to tears by seeing actual galaxies and planets. Really. This is incredible.

The Spa at Séc-he Palm Springs: Spa at Sec-he in Palm Springs is excellent. Spacious outdoor pool area to hang between services.  Livs restaurant at Palm Springs Art museum for brunch-sit outside!

Pappy & Harriet’s: Every city’s got that tiny dive that’s unassuming and been around forever and somehow has a show calendar that rivals the mainstream venues’. Well, Pioneertown does, too, and it is called Pappy & Harriet’s. It’s an institution and you feel it when you walk inside.

Go if a band you know or like is playing and you’ll remember the show for years. Go if you’ve never heard of the band to enjoy high vibes and undoubtedly great music. Bonus: they have food!

Jackrabbit Studios Creative Sanctuary & Retreat: I still think about my time at Jackrabbit two years ago and plan to return the minute I next head West. I cannot overstate how special the energy is here.

The main house is open, airy, and  set up perfectly both for group hanging and individual alone time (multiple bedrooms), and the casita is a nice option for extra privacy.

Jen (the owner) truly is a steward of this land, the home, and the energy; this comes across in touches small and large, and the palpable care she’s put into every detail.

You do not have to be an artist to enjoy Jackrabbit, but if you are there is a beautiful studio on the property.

Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum: i've never been to this place but have been dying to go. from what i hear it's a very special, off the beaten path open air garden of big sculptures made of found materials. not in the heart of JT but a unique spot to visit nonetheless!
