Nicole Anderson
Sahadi’s
•••
in addition to all the deliciousness in Nicole’s original rec, I would add that my Sahadi’s faves are stuffed grape leaves, many flavors of labneh, tiny spanakopita, and great halvah you can buy by the quarter pound

Carrot Express at Brookfield Place
•••
my office is currently at Brookfield Place (we’re leaving at the end of the year, which is sad) and Carrot Express is the absolute best place to buy lunch in that food court. there’s never a line, every item of food I’ve tried has been fresh and delicious, they make an unreal chocolate chip walnut cookie if you want a sweet treat with your lunch. levels up my work lunch situation fr fr

Candor candy shop
•••
the kind of place you have to actively tell yourself to forget is in easy walking distance, lest you make it a daily thing. try the juicy mango gummies that look like clementine slices. thank me later.

lady panda nails
•••
I get truly gorgeous manicures done every four weeks by the sweet and lovely Zoey (our names matching is a fun coincidence) and she is so talented it boggles the mind. visiting her is perhaps the best act of self-care in my repertoire. she feeds me snacks and tea, we watch Netflix, I leave with nail art that elicits compliments everywhere I go. everyone should be so lucky to have a Zoey in their life.

The Good Batch
•••

Getting to the Bryant Park lawn at 4:30pm for the outdoor movies
•••
beg, borrow, cajole your friend with the most flexible work schedule to sneak out and make it to the lawn at Bryant Park by, at latest, 4:30pm on Monday nights in July and August to nab a spot for the outdoor movie screenings. arrive at the park any closer to the 5pm go time, you’ll fall before the raging hordes that rush the lawn to claim the best possible seats. at 4:30, you have a fighting chance at a decent spot, especially if you have pointy elbows. or be that friend. it’s good juju.
