A Tale of Summer

Analisa Burns

“this is autobiographical of Rohmer's young self working through his own habits of desire and doubt. part of why it’s so great — it’s intimate without being dramatic. the film turns tiny choices, missed timing, and awkward conversations into something profound. it captures that hyper-specific summer feeling. and the feeling of confusing romance. also color is gorgeous”
