hot water doesn’t touch my face

huge perioral dermatitis hack ! wash your face in WARM water, never hot. lukewarm even! i realized hot water (particularly hot showers where i washed my face in the shower) were a huge trigger for me. bonus hack is applying a thick layer of moisturizer on your face before a shower or sauna to protect your skin. this allows me to boil myself in the shower without a flare up :)

i love to eat a fabulous meal and yet i so often forget the fabulous things i eat. now i bring the dinner notebook, a tiny pocket- sized notebook where i write everything i eat down when out at a restaurant. my wife believes that this results in us getting free stuff because the staff thinks i am a critic or something, but i choose to believe that is due to our innate charm. i love the dinner notebook

freezer cookie dough balls

every time you make cookies, put a few formed balls in the freezer for later. or even most of the batch so you can bake them off as you want them! put baking instructions on the bag for ultimate ease. give yourself the gift of a single warm cookie in the future!

if it will take less than three minutes, just do it now

from atomic habits, a book i have never read, but a rule that helps me get through the “ugh i’ll do this later” feeling. so many things take less than three minutes, it’s crazy! washing up a couple dishes, folding a small load of laundry, making the bed, cleaning the countertops. and then it’s DONE and you can move onto your next under three minute task…. until you inevitably one day die <3
