Tumi Expandable Carry-On: possibly the greatest recommendation i’ve made to date. i have an old version of this suitcase that i’ve used for maybe 10+ years and people are constantly SHOCKED that it fits in the overhead compartment (as am i). but alas … it always does. it’s just huge but i guess the exact dimensions of what could fit overhead. feels like a life hack every time.

Longchamp Le Pliage Original Travel Bag: I’ve had this for 10+ years, and it holds a ridiculous amount of stuff when expanded. I love that it’s like two bags in one. I would say it’s more suited for car travel because it would be crazy heavy to lug through the airport when full. The Real Real often has them for cheaper than new.

rimowa original cabin: normal size for those times when you have to fly an lcc. this is mine, it's almost 15 years old and still kicking. at current prices that's about $100 a year or $15 a trip, but it was around $900 when i bought it at SOGO taiwan. everything is repairable and rimowa once replaced the wheels, inside the airport, for free in 30 minutes. because of that they've got me for life.

ps. if i couldn't marry this i'd get a Xiaomi aluminum suitcase for 1/8 the price and 90% of the quality. but good luck repairing it when it breaks.
